GENERAL SUMMARY: The Electrical Engineering Technician acts as an interface between design engineering and the production line.
The primary function of the Liaison is to support the production line by answering technical questions, gathering/supplying information, problem solving, and troubleshooting to keep product flowing smoothly though the production line.
Once trained, he/she should be able to perform their production support duties with little to no guidance with the design engineers.
The successful candidate will be self-motivated, needing little supervision, strong at multitasking, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
The position requires both hands-on troubleshooting skills and the ability work in an office environment on a computer.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The following reflect the essential functions for this position but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned based upon changing business conditions.
· Troubleshoot 12 VDC automotive circuits, 120/240V generator circuits, and some hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
· Make programming changes to the multiplexed electrical system.
· Update engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
· Print electrical build documents for manufacturing and release them on time · Create documents for delivery manuals, (AMP draw reports, V-Mux reports, Electrical drawings) · Provide manufacturing process support.
· Provide feedback from production to engineering on quality improvements and cost reductions.
· Support continuous product flow through the shop floor · Seek support from product vendors via phone and email.
· Prioritize a dynamic workload so tasks are completed quickly and on time.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: · Associates Degree (A.
A.
), or 2-year degree in Automotive Systems or Electronics Technology preferred.
2 years of equivalent work experience in a manufacturing setting may be considered in place of education.
· Demonstrated knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
· Ability to read schematics and use test instruments to troubleshoot electrical systems.
· Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office software or the ability to quickly learn them.
· Basic AutoCAD and multiplex programing skills or the ability to quickly learn them.
· Detail oriented with strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
· Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
· Energetic, motivated, team player.
