SMOC, a non-profit organization, is seeking a full-time equivalent (30-40 hours per week) Transit Coordinator at the SMOC office, located in Worthington, to administer the Prairieland Transit System public transportation program in Nobles County.
*JOB SUMMARY*:
This position provides Central Dispatch services to passengers and assures effective implementation of Prairieland Transit System program policies and procedures for public transit bus drivers and passengers, data management, and daily record keeping / computer database entry for public transportation in Nobles County.
*DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Research, analyze, and implement department policies to meet state department and legislative requirements.
* Develop, coordinate and implement training and technical assistance for NCHE drivers to meet MNDOT and legislative requirements.
* Provide afternoon as well as substitute / back-up for Prairieland Transit System Central Dispatch.
* Support public relations and education efforts related to public transit initiatives, policies and procedures.
* Develop and implement initiatives for improving the effectiveness and efficiency of public transit in Nobles County.
* Provide technical assistance to passengers, drivers, and community organizations relating to public transportation policies and management.
*ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:*
* Experience and knowledge of computer data management systems and Microsoft Office programs.
* Ability to communicate with diverse groups
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work individually and as a team.
*PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*:
* BA in Human Services or related field.
* Experience and knowledge of training and communication technology.
*WORKING CONDITIONS:*
* Occasional travel to attend meetings and events within Nobles County, the nine counties of Region 8, and the State of Minnesota.
* Position is on-site at the SMOC office location in Worthington.
*COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:*
* Annual salary range $29,503 - $43, 865
