S & W Construction, an excavation and concrete foundation company, seeks a full-time Truck Driver (Class B CDL) to join their team in Brookings, South Dakota.
This position operates a conveyor truck to place pea rock and gravel at various residential construction sites throughout eastern South Dakota.
The ideal candidate is reliable, has a clean driving record, and has a Commercial Driver’s License.
Previous experience operating a conveyor truck is preferred, but not required.
We will train those with an excellent work ethic and who want to learn.
WHAT WE OFFER.
• $30.
00 per hour starting wage.
• Year-round position generally working Monday-Friday from 7am–5pm with weekly overtime available and occasional Saturday work during busy season.
• Paid holidays.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR.
• Valid driver’s license and Class B CDL required.
• Experience operating a slinger/conveyor truck preferred, however, we will train someone with an excellent work ethic with experience on residential or commercial building sites.
• Possess a physical ability to safely haul different types of stone/rock material from quarries/gravel pits to job sites and use a conveyor to place inside foundations/forms, lawns, etc.
• Perform general laborer work onsite as needed.
• Knowledge and ability to perform pre and post trip truck safety inspections such as checking fluid levels of engine oil, antifreeze, tire pressure, brakes, hydraulic systems, and line systems.
• Ability to communicate clearly in English with jobsite foremen, work crews and customers.
• Exceptional work ethic and top-notch customer service skills.
• You are organized, reliable and work well individually and as a team member.
• You work well under time constraints and can ensure deadlines are met.
• Must be able to pass a pre-hire drug screening.
