Job Title: Pharmacy Delivery Driver
Reports to: Director of Pharmacy Operations or Chief Pharmacist, Staff Pharmacist
Status: Non-Exempt
Summary
The Delivery Driver's primary responsibility is to operate a motor vehicle (van, utility van, automobile, etc.
) on public roads and highways to transport medications and supplies in a timely manner.
Deliveries will be made from Lewis Drug Pharmacies and other locations to private and public healthcare facilities and potentially homes and apartments.
This person must have a professional demeanor and be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Learn Lewis Drug policies and procedures and perform them daily
• Professionally manage and assist in all scheduled deliveries and new deliveries
• Current and valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to read a map and/or use a GPS device
• Maintain the confidentiality of patients' private medical information according to the HIPAA Act
• Obey all traffic laws and assure self-safety at all times
• Maintain accurate paperwork and logs
• Assist other drivers when needed
• Promote Lewis initiatives and represent Lewis in a positive manner to our patients and communities
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Director of Pharmacy Operations, Facilities Manager, and pharmacy staff

Qualifications
• High school diploma or equivalent required (or in progress)
• Ability to handle transactions accurately and responsibly
• Basic math and computer skills
• Must be at least age 18
• Current and valid driver's license and clean driving record are required
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to sit for long periods of time
• Work with full range of hands, wrists, and arms (i.
e.
Ability to pick up and pinch small items with fingers, and seize, hold, grasp or turn objects with hands)
• Ability to lift/move items up to 50 lbs occasionally, up to 10 lbs frequently, and less than 10 lbs constantly
• Visual requirements include vision from less than 20 inches to more than 20 feet with or without correction
• Must have depth perception, color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors), and field of vision
• Must have ability to communicate verbally with staff and patients
• Must be able to load and unload vehicles
