Job Summary
Perform all duties necessary to process and close secondary market real estate loans.
Ensure the accuracy of required documentation necessary for loan submittal to underwriting, loan documents prior to closing and submission to the loan investor.
This position may support mortgage bankers in other markets.
Primary Accountabilities
Maintain processing time lines that are established for secondary market loans to ensure loans are processed and approved in a timely manner.
Maintain a high level of file quality throughout the mortgage process which includes organization of the documentation, accuracy of data input, ensuring the loan file meets the requirements of the secondary market and providing a detailed analysis of the loan in the file comments.
Order all verification documents required for loan approval and review all loan documentation for accuracy.
Have consistent and open communication on the loan files which includes weekly status updates on all files with the mortgage banker.
Maintain working knowledge of investor requirements and the requirements on all loan types, including Conventional, FHA, USDA RD and VA.
Stay abreast of changes to the mortgage process and secondary market guidelines.
Be proficient in Encompass and the Automated Underwriting Systems (AUS).
Ensure Guaranteed Underwriting System (GUS) is updated accurately after verifications are received.
Ensure loans are complete and accurate for underwriting and closing.
Ensure loans comply with applicable state and federal compliance guidelines.
Secondary Accountabilities
Aid co-workers with processing files and work with co-workers to resolve any file issues.
Provide prompt and courteous service to customers (both internal and external) and all third-party affiliates.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Maintain educational and professional expertise through attendance at job related seminars, conferences, and on-line training.
