Position Summary: The Loan Document Specialist I is responsible for recording timely receipt and maintenance of homeowner’s insurance and flood insurance policies.
In this position you will assist in the creation of accurate loan documents for Commercial, Ag and Retail departments through our established system and ensure their completeness and compliance to current banking regulations and policies.
You will gain knowledge of different types of loan collateral, banking laws and regulations related to Bank operations.
In this position you will communicate with loan officers about loan documentation, proofing all loan worksheets for input errors along with knowledge of LaserPro software and its components.
The Loan Document Specialist reviews loan officer’s lending limits, lending approvals, and pre-loan closing compliance documents to verify they are within Bank and compliance guidelines.
You will learn the Fiserv Premier core platform and assist in testing new documentation system release updates for documentation system, LaserPro.
As a Loan Document Specialist, you will also assist with the comprehensive review of Ag and Commercial loans within a specified time after origination using AccuAccount.

What will you do: Accountabilities Loan Documentation Create loan documentation and reviewing that insurance documentation is accurate and in compliance with laws, regulations, policies and procedures.
Code loans accurately to ensure quality of data for financial reporting to regulatory agencies utilizing procedures.
Prepare, process, and generate Loan documentation for simple business and consumer loans to ensure terms of documents are in accordance with committee approved request and following bank policy, lending practices and regulatory statutes.
Report all compliance issues, violations of law or regulations in accordance with the steps defined in bank policies.
Report discrepancies, identify missing documentation, and obtain additional information when necessary.
Generate closing and amended loan documentation, including but not limited to notes, letters of credit, participation agreements, change in terms agreements, security documents, guaranties, construction, and entity lending resolutions.
Receive declaration pages for homeowners’ insurance and update system to reflect current policy and expiration dates.
Track and update hazard insurance collateral and sending reminder letters when necessary to meet the bank and the government guidelines.
Communicate with title companies and customers regarding missing documents and other issues identified.
Monitor timely receipt of critical loan documents.
Loan Review Review loan accounting system/file maintenance report (Checkback) and assist with comprehensive review of unsecured Ag and commercial non-real estate loans.
Learn quality assurance, and Loan Accounting System (LAS) file maintenance reports daily to verify data input and coding accuracy.
Assist in testing LaserPro release notes and document results.
Perform loan quality post review to ensure required loan documentation has been properly executed.
Identify missing/incorrect documentation in loan files and report issue through proper channels.
Partner with Others Partner with others to ensure team goals are met.
Participate in cross-functional training to support all areas within the Loan Operations team.
Champion change management initiatives and serve as a role model for change in the organization.
Qualifications Secondary education in business or related field preferred.
One or more years of relevant work experience or a combination of education/experience that would enable incumbent to meet accountabilities and required competencies of the position.
Experience in banking preferred.
