Learn more About Daktronics! As a divisional resource group, the Test and Calibration Manufacturing Process Owner Group (TCMPOG) provides system and process development support to all Daktronics Manufacturing Factories and Business Units.
This position will be responsible for developing innovative and robust methods for testing, programming, and configuring our product.
Responsibilities: Support Daktronics Vision, Mission, and Big Picture while working to develop and ensure capable, reliable, and supportable Test/Programming systems and processes in manufacturing.
Act as or become a subject matter expert for test fixture equipment and processes.
Provide consulting, leadership, and demonstrate ownership of test fixtures or related systems during their development and use.
Support vision development, advancement, and lifecycle planning.
Be the liaison between applicable manufacturing factories and engineering to continue to improve and standardize test and programming systems and processes.
Provide escalated factory support as necessary.
Seek input from manufacturing customers regarding opportunities to improve cost/quality/delivery/readiness.
Work with Process Engineers to develop: Plans and act on this input to improve reliability, supportability, and throughput of Test and Calibration systems in manufacturing.
Document requirements for test and calibration systems/processes as applicable.
Support development and readiness of training materials, documentation, WI, procedures, and reference documents.
Test/programming/configuration standards for related systems and subject matter.
Provide applicable training to operators, engineers, and technicians.
Take initiative to solve problems and lead collaborative efforts to improve and standardize the status quo.
Utilize quality tools and accepted documentation methods and problem-solving tools to identify root cause, countermeasures, and corrective actions or support continuous improvement.
Work with appropriate vendors and third-party resources to develop and ensure robust test, program, and calibration processes and advance our technology and knowledge base as applicable.
Perform or specify qualification processes for related systems to ensure a high level of readiness in Manufacturing, Customer Service, or at vendors.
Escalate any concerns and develop countermeasures as appropriate.
Assist with the testing and build of prototypes/pre-production units and assist with the manufacturing release process to ensure readiness.
Qualifications: Associates degree in Electronics Technology, Electronic Systems Technology, Computer Technology, Robotics, or equivalent required.
Must have electrical, mechanical, and technical aptitude with the ability to learn on the fly.
Able to work on own and be a self-starter.
Good time management skills required.
Ability to interact and collaborate with a variety of manufacturing and engineering employees in a positive, professional manner.
Ability to lead projects and coordinate the work of others to ensure project deadlines are met and expected results are achieved.
Knowledge of and/or capacity to learn the detailed workings of many different types of testing and programming equipment.
Ability to lead or carry out troubleshooting efforts either in person or remotely to support escalations.
Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Communicate effectively in a team environment.
Physical Requirements include: The ability to lift and carry heavy (up to 45 pounds) and/or awkward items.
Must be able to stand and/or sit for the full shift and have full range of motion as required for the position.
Required to distinguish and identify colors (wires, paint, etc.
) as it pertains to the position.
Work with some odors (paint, solder, welding, coating, etc.
) associated with a manufacturing environment.
Wear all protective equipment as required in work area.
Items may include the following: safety glasses, safety shoes/boots, hearing protection, protective garments, etc.
Ability to travel by air and ground.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Motor vehicle records will be checked.
