Location Description: Our plant, located in Lansing, IL, pasteurizes raw eggs to remove harmful bacteria for a more safe product to the foodservice industry.

POSITION SUMMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in training of all processing and production personnel in the assigned department.
Assists the supervisor in updating training for the existing personnel whenever equipment changes are instituted or news procedures are implemented.
Helps in providing for a safe work environment for all personnel.
Also helps ensure that all production complies with the food safety standards as established by Michael Foods, Inc.
Works with the supervisor to help maintain sanitation standards of facility.
Assigns work tasks to department personnel.
Assists with the mortality audits.
Assists with the safety audits.
Assists with the REF (Responsible Egg Flow System) problems and completes the report.
Helps maintain control records related to processing, including but not limited to the production records, safety inspections, and 7 day UEP (United Egg Producers) records.
Maintains an effective working relationship between all members of the department and other areas.
Continually monitors the lines for quality product and notifies all appropriate personnel if discrepancy is found.
Must be able to follow all of the PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements and safety procedures.
Must be able to follow all of the GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) procedures; “washing hands, etc.
” throughout the day.
Must be able to follow all of the HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) guidelines.
Must be able to follow all of the SOP (Sanitation Operating Procedures) and the SSOP (Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures).
Must keep all of these records updated.
Must be able to follow all of the USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) regulations and guidelines.
Monitors processing equipment on a continual basis in order to maintain the proper production standards.
Reports and fills out work orders on maintenance issues as they relate to productivity, food safety, quality, and human safety to maintenance.
Encourages suggestions from employees which will improve productivity, quality, and/or control cost of production.
Maintains accurate downtime records and the Daily shift report of all of the equipment in the assigned areas.
Completes daily paperwork, SAP (System Applications Product in Data Processing), PEB, and the Brill of Lading as needed.
Assures that all of the paper work is being done properly.
Adheres to safe work practices, follow GMP’s, maintain sanitary conditions, and ensure that product quality is maintained.
Reports to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Adheres to all safety polices and procedures.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: JOB QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent.
EXPERIENCE: LANGUAGE SKILLS: Good communication skills.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Able to write simple correspondence.
Able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
Bilingual preferred MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Capable of adding and subtracting two digit numbers and of multiplying and dividing with 10’s and 100’s.
Able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram or schedule form.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS: Licenses, certificates, and registrations required: Must have or must be able to obtain a forklift and pallet mover operator’s license.
Must have or must be able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Specific skills and abilities required that are not included in other sections: Must be able to train new employees.
Must be available to work overtime and weekends (once a month).
Also, must be willing to work an alternate shift.
Ability to analyze problems and find solutions.
Ability to read and understand operating procedures.
Skills needed in performing basic math computations.
Having computer experience is a positive (excel, word, etc.
).
Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with others to complete work assignments.
Open to change.
Positive interpersonal relationships.
Able to work independently and with others in a team environment.
Self-motivated while also willing to ask questions and seek direction.
Displays responsible behavior at work.
