ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, while other duties may be assigned: Maintains an organized project schedule to keep several assigned projects visible and active at once.
Analyzes directives to effectively gather specific information to formulate ideas and generate working plans in the form of completed drawings, CNC cut files, quote masters, production work orders and other paperwork as required for the purpose of providing complete, accurate and consistent instructional guidance for production.
Uses 3D and 2D software to prepare accurate layout, orthographic and pictorial drawings for production and external suppliers.
Uses ERP software to develop accurate quote master (BOM’s) and converts them to work orders/travelers for production.
May use other programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher to complete work assignments.
Communicates effectively with all department heads and their subordinates as needed to finish projects in a timely manner.
Participates in investigations to purify technical data or improve process efficiencies as required.
May use measuring instruments like calipers or micrometers to assess dimensional conformance to print.
Continuously exercises discretion and good judgement while performing all job-related functions and keeps supervisor informed of job-related problems and other information related to work activity.
Assists in creating initial layout of installation instructions for the Technical Writer to utilize in the development of new and updated owner’s manuals.
Reports to work on time and accurately completes all daily duties assigned.
Attendance is an essential job function.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE Associate degree in Mechanical Drafting Engineering Technology or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and experience using AutoCAD/Inventor or comparable drafting package for the purpose of preparing mechanical drawings and models.
Must have good organizational Skills.
LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups or customers or employees of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
