Department: Scheduling
Summary: The Production Scheduler’s focus is on executing and improving production system processes.
Key responsibilities for the Production Scheduler include schedule accuracy, inventory levels and accuracy, throughput and flexibility of operation.
This person supports current operations, implements new processes, as well as effectively executes and controls the processes.
This person also provides technical leadership for improvement teams organized to identify, analyze and improve processes.
Primary Duties:
Execution of production operations (long and short range goals of production)
To serve as a facilitator to the Team Leaders on inventory control, shop orders, and scheduling.
Communicate and monitor customer order completion dates to customer service.
Scheduling production of customer orders.
Assist with problem solving of inventory accuracy, expedites, and part shortages.
Assist with the identification and/or implementation of process improvements.
Able to find, print and understand shop orders, customer orders and engineer drawings.
Documentation of existing processes and procedures.
Identification of process improvement opportunities.
Develop, define and implement new processes and controls.
To complete jobs on a timely and consistent basis.
Work with others to solve problems.
Requirements:
Qualifications / Experience:
Ability to provide leadership for change
To work as a team and be self-motivated to work independently
Ability and willingness to lead project teams
Two or more years experience in manufacturing operations (scheduling, inventory analysis and production performance)
MPS and MRP knowledge and practical experience is required
Personal Computer proficiency with business applications (creating new spreadsheets, analyzing data, composing documents and flow charts)
Good interpersonal, verbal communication and active listening skills
Willingness and ability to learn and perform other jobs
Knowledge and understanding of the function of all departments in the plant
Understanding of Lean Principles and tools
