The Estimator is primarily responsible for providing an estimated price of getting a home to the weather tight stage, or select other projects.
This is done by evaluating a blueprint or drawing supplied by the customer and estimating the quantities of materials and the cost of those materials.
Duties & Responsibilities: Collect information from customers, contractors and/or sales staff and develop estimates for jobs based on the information collected within project deadlines.
Present estimates to sales and other relevant staff for proposal to the customer.
Incorporate new products and materials into estimates to reduce costs yet meet compliance and customer specifications.
Elimination products and materials when in the best interests of the company.
Conduct research of relevant markets, potentials, trends and competitive positions to improve estimates.
Review and maintain blueprints and customer requirements for specific projects; design preliminary truss and wall panel drawings as necessary.
Handles coordination of bids with salesmen to meet client deadlines.
Plans and paces own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals.
Requirements and Qualifications: Must have a valid driver license.
Excellent understanding of construction and framing methods.
Knowledge/understanding of CAD software.
MiTek drafting software experience preferred.
Ability to multi-task and work on simultaneous projects Strong math, geometry and communication skills.
Ability to sit at a computer for the workday and work on a computer.
