JOB SUMMARY
The Production Supervisor plays a crucial role in leading, planning, organizing, and directing daily activities within the manufacturing department, with a strong focus on promoting safety, maintaining quality standards, and driving productivity.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Maintain a safe and clean work environment by enforcing company safety standards.
Provide comprehensive safety training to all employees within the department and monitor compliance with safety regulations.
Actively contribute as a member of the Safety Committee, aiding in the development and implementation of safety programs.
Develop a weekly production schedule in collaboration with the sales and purchasing teams.
Demonstrate a thorough understanding of raw material inventory and locations, finding ways to optimize organization.
Understand the new ERP system and the changes for manufacturing.
Assist in the hiring process, including interviewing, orientation, and training of new employees.
Provide training on the new ERP system, ensuring the team is proficient and be able to address any issues.
Establish and maintain standardized job tasks and process flow.
Clearly communicate job expectations and provide coaching, education, and necessary discipline to staff.
Document any challenges, concerns, or problems related to staff members.
Ensure operators produce quality products efficiently, adhering to job instructions and established quality procedures.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and quality.
Develop and recommend improvements to facilities, equipment, and procedures to enhance safety, quality and efficiency.
Maintain a cross-training matrix and establish training and development plans for employees.
Collaborate with the Facilities Director to troubleshoot equipment and resolve production and quality issues.
Ensure daily completion of “End of Job” document (labor, job, quantities, and time).
Maintain daily metrics of production goals vs.
actual results, analyzing shortfalls and documenting causes.
Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, and occasionally bend and move about the facility.
Ability to lift to 50 lbs.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of five years’ experience in Manufacturing.
Two years of related experience in a leadership role is preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft office; ERP knowledge is preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to multitask and react professionally in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
HOURS: Monday - Thursday 6:00AM - 4:30PM
