*Reports to: *Test Lab Supervisor *Work Location: *Clear Lake, SD *Functional Area: *Quality *Required Travel:* None *Exempt Status:* Non-Exempt *Salary Range:* DOE *Schedule:* 4/10 hour shifts *Job Summary:* The Test Technician is responsible for performing functional and environmental testing of products as directed by test plans for pre-production and daily sampling as well as performing lot acceptance and first article acceptance tests.
*ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:* 1.
Follows test plans by using equipment, visual standards and customer specifications.
2.
Assists in preparing products to be tested.
3.
Stamps mark of approval or rejection on product.
Prepares report of examinations and assembles paperwork package to be provided to the customer.
4.
Test function of parts, takes and records performance measurements and prepares test report.
5.
Performs limited calibration of equipment.
6.
Assists in reducing hazardous waste by operational proficiency.
7.
Interacts with customer and government representatives during testing of their product.
8.
Works with Engineers in the product group as directed by supervisor or manager.
9.
Performs other work related duties as assigned.
*REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS/MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* 1.
Must be a U.
S.
citizen or permanent resident of the United States (ITAR restrictions).
2.
Must be at least 18 years of age to work at this facility.
3.
Must be eligible to possess explosives under the Safe Explosives Act of 2003 (as amended) as required by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) for all employees of Tech Ord.
4.
High school diploma or equivalent is required.
5.
Knowledge of electronics is preferred.
6.
Ability to communicate and document effectively in English.
7.
Function Specific RCRA training upon hire.
8.
Understanding of ISO requirements upon hire.
9.
Ability to work with other employees as part of a team and maintain a level of flexibility and versatility as well as ability to work independently to accomplish tasks using time management skills with minimal supervision.
10.
Ability to multi-task in support of end-result/goal.
11.
Excellent organizational skills.
12.
Ability to set and establish priorities.
13.
Must be familiar with Microsoft Office applications including Excel and have the ability to learn and become proficient in our internal computer applications.

Ability to talk and hear in order to communicate with others.

Lifting of 10 pounds is required.
Must be able to move materials by lifting, pushing or pulling up to 50 pounds with assistance.
6.
Bending, squatting or kneeling is required when moving materials, or performing other duties such as filing.
7.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus when viewing a computer monitor.
8.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, and explosives.
9.
Ear protection is required as identified throughout the facility.
10.
Where required employees must wear a minimum of 50 percent cotton clothing including undergarments to mitigate electrostatic discharge (ESD).
Employees must also wear company issued safety footwear.
