Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team.
As an Estimator, you will be responsible for analyzing construction projects and providing accurate cost estimates.
You will play a crucial role in ensuring the profitability and success of our projects.
Duties:
- Review project plans, specifications, and other relevant documents to determine project requirements
- Utilize HeavyBid software to prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and architects to gather necessary information for accurate estimates
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities
- Research and analyze historical data, market trends, and industry standards to inform cost estimates
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals that outline project scope, pricing details, and any special considerations
- Participate in bid meetings and negotiations with clients and subcontractors
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide recommendations for cost control measures
- Collaborate with the project management team to ensure accurate budgeting and financial forecasting
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- Proven experience in construction estimating, preferably in commercial or industrial projects
- Proficiency in using estimating software such as HeavyBid
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical documents
- Strong negotiation and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in estimating costs
- Proficiency in using software tools such as Bluebeam for document management
