is a great team made up of 7 smaller teams.
Construction workers are needed to assist our team on area building projects.
Workers can advance to Superintendent as they continue to learn from more skilled craftmen and gain experience.
They report to the Field Superintendent or the Foreman when directed to do so by the Field Superintendent.
Applicants must display respect and service, work as a team, have a strong work ethic with physical strength and endurance, working well with your hands.
What you will do
Use tools and building materials to assist on area building projects
All phases of light duty commercial construction with wood and steel building products
Prepare construction site each day by preparing materials, tools, and equipment
Perform building and construction work which includes, but is not limited to concrete walls, foundations, and slabs; strucutral steel and metal erection, wood structure erection; and general carpentry and finishes.
Load and unlaod construction supplies and equipment
Shovel materials such as dirt, gravel, etc.
Site cleanup duties
Train others on experienced tasks and learn tasks as needed or instructed
Ensure that equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly, and assist with inventory management
Follow all company work and safety policies and procedures
Work in a team while following instructions and safety guidelines
Solely accountable for the fulfillment of all assigned duties and has authority delegated equal with assigned responsibilities.
These include safety, productivity, quality control, material and inventory control/planning, maintenance and care for tools, blueprint/plan reading, reporting and paperwork accuracy.
What qualifications you need
1 year of on-the-job construction experience or at least 6 month of on-the-job experience with a Building Trades Degree or Journeyman Certification is preferred.
Minimum Tool Requirement: Toolbelt, carpenter pencil, utility knife with blade, carpenter's square, 16 oz.
or larger hammer, tape measure, sheet metal hand shear, cats paw for framing 9-10" size, and chalk box.
Must have basic knowledge of construction procedures and practices.
Must measure accurately, use specific tools and equipment once trained.
Ability to get self to and from jobsites within 20 miles of Brookings
Ability to travel within 75 mile radius of Brookings daily - no overnight travel.

Behavioral and Physical Requirements:
The construction worker will work in conditions of repetitive movement, bending and twisting, climbing, using hands to lift, push, pull, carry, handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
The construction worker lifes heavy objects (75+ pounds), walks and stands for long periods of time, climbs ladders, and performs strenous physical labor under adverse field conditions.
Must be able to read and follow instructions.
Must be able towork harmoniously with others.
