If you have what it takes and want to be part of our always growing Rosenbauer family, we want to hear from you! POSITION SUMMARY The Pump Mounter will handle pump installation and chassis prep as daily tasks.
They will configure a workable driveline layout to work with the pump placement.
The Pump Mounter will adjust chassis to accommodate for the placement of other equipment.
Also, they will weld steel using MIG welding to mount and adjust chassis as needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS All employees are required to support Rosenbauers Mission, Vision, and Values.
The following are the essential duties of this position and do not include marginal functions that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties.
The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.
Installs pump to fire apparatus.
Configures a workable driveline layout.
Adjusts chassis to accommodate for the placement of other equipment.
Welds steel using MIG welding to mount and adjust chassis as needed.
Utilizes basic hand tools, band saw, wrenches, and Iron Worker to complete objectives as needed.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the organization and our members.
QUALIFICATIONS Required Education: High School Diploma/GED.
Preferred Education: None.
Required Experience: Strong mechanical knowledge and experience.
Preferred Experience: Experience with MIG welding.
Position Requirements: Strong mechanical aptitude.
Able to follow written and verbal directions and do so with a positive attitude.
Able to read and work from blueprints/spec book.
Ability to identify quality issues and recognize changes within ones production process and make the needed adjustments.
Ability to read a tape measure accurately and precisely and have a basic understanding on how to use basic hand tools, shear, and brake press.
Ability to work with minimal supervision.
You recognize the importance and adherence to all safety policies in order to promote a safe working environment, for everyone at the organization.
Understand the need to support the organization to work effectively by adhering to the attendance and punctuality standards and does not burden co-workers and supervisors unfairly with unnecessary and unplanned absences and lateness.
Must be able to efficiently work with Allison Advantage Calculator.
Work well in a team environment as this position is put into pairs of two.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving a variety of variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills: Ability to perform intermediate PC functions including spreadsheet formulas and functions, queries, tables, merges and special reports.
Will perform some troubleshooting.
Intermediate experience required.
Decision Making: Responsibilities are guided by a set of guidelines that provide methods for problem solving.
Decisions are made within these guidelines initially, and a supervisor is informed afterwards.
Supervisor regularly reviews the activities to determine if the guidelines have been followed.
WORKING CONDITIONS This position is in a general shop where different tasks are completed and has access to all welfare facilities.
In some cases, the temperature can be warmer or colder depending on the season, and the temperature can vary if the shop doors are open.
The shop is not temperature controlled.
There is also constant noise with all the machines that are used inside the shop.
Besides noise, some of the machines produce vibrations when being used.
Most of the hazards come from machines but following proper procedures should minimize risk.
When the shop doors are closed, there can be low light when working.
The shop can have some airborne particles from certain machines.
This position may involve working conditions with confined spaces.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position requires standing, walking, and the use of hands for the entire shift.
It can become very loud in the shop with many machines being used.
With constant noise, talking or hearing can be difficult.
During shifts, some projects require the use of feet, legs, arms, fingers, and hands for over 60 minutes at a time.
As a Pump Mounter, kneeling, stooping, and crouching are required to complete job duties.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus, and good depth perception.
During some shifts, the use of knees, back, and shoulders for 30 to 60 minutes is required.
This position requires the ability to lift 70 pounds.
