Job Description: Plant Manager
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Directs and coordinates overall operations for the processing plant.
Ensures that objectives are achieved at the lowest cost consistent with quality requirements.
Oversees all functions involved such as maintenance, manufacturing, production, purchasing, safety, warehouse, accounting, and administration.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Directs production, promoting cost effectiveness consistent with prescribed quality, accuracy, and performance standards.
· Maintains plant property and equipment ensuring adherence with good manufacturing processes.
· Prepares and submits operating reports covering production metrics.
Assures effective customer service and relations through timely delivery of quality product.
· Selects, trains, develops, and motivates manufacturing staff to maintain and improve plant operations.
Facilitate effective communications between the local team and key external stakeholders
Communicates regularly with the sales, pricing and transportation teams.
· Monitors team member adherence to company rules and processes.
Assures compliance of all plant operations with company policy and federal, state, and local regulations.
Set production and processing goals for plant.
Perform various other duties as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
· Adequate knowledge of meat industry processing and manufacturing
· Adequate knowledge of organizational effectiveness and operational management
· Adequate knowledge of budget development and oversight experience
· Working knowledge of budgets, forecasting and metrics, KPI’s
· Ability to engage in multiple assignments concurrently and complete them in a timely manner
· Experience with leadership and/or management
· Maintain relationships within the local community
· Some travel required
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· 10+ years of high level experience and exposure in meat industry and/or manufacturing
· Ability to work any hours as needed, flexible to shift
