What you will do: The Quality Control Technician tests and inspects concrete, aggregates, and asphalt products before and during manufacturing at the production plants, as well as at job sites using a variety of testing equipment and procedures to maintain and ensure products conform to required specifications.
This is a skilled position involving responsibility for the safe sampling and testing of materials.
Responsibilities include the proper collection of materials to be tested, proper and accurate analysis of the materials, and accurate reporting and documentation of results.
Driving a company vehicle will be required.
Main Responsibilites 1.
Safely and efficiently collect samples for testing aggregates and material Perform sampling, testing, and reporting procedures according to established protocol.
Having the ability to test material samples and record test results in a timely and accurate manner.

Perform calculations, provide documentation, and communicate data 3.
Maintain a daily record of test results, prepare daily reports, and submit results to the project lead technician or main lab supervisor.
Advise supervisor of unusual test results or results that do not meet specifications.
4.
Ensure work performed meets department standards, participate in continuous improvement system, observe and promote best practices, good time management, and be able to troubleshoot/analyze root cause failure.
5.
Properly follow all company policies and regulations for safe working procedures and environmental best practices.
6.
Verify outside construction materials testing laboratory results and maintain accurate, timely records of test data, product quality, and defective materials.
Experience and abilities you will need: Mandatory 1.
Familiarity with industry standards and specifications as well as knowledge of both ready-mix and asphalt manufacturing design, processes, and equipment.
2.
State DOT and ACI certifications.
3.
Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record.
4.
Must have a minimum of Leve I ACI certification for Concrete, Aggregate, and Strength and Testing.
Desirable 1.
Associate degree preferred 2.
Minimum of Level I DOT certification with Level II preferred.
Experience: 1.
Three (3) years of laboratory testing experience in ready-mix concrete and construction aggregate properties.
2.
Asphalt testing experience.
3.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instruction and deal with several abstract and concrete variable 4.
Demonstrated proficiency with personal computer and software packages.
5.
Demonstrated ability to plan and organize and to work independently.
6.
Strong Work Ethic: Uses time efficiently and ensures job duties, issues, and concerns are handled in a timely, appropriate manner.
7.
Integrity: Acts with unyielding integrity and honesty in business transactions, promoting company policies, and holding self-accountable.
8.
Team Player: Establishes trust with team members, clearly stating expectations and accountabilities of self and others; recognizes the importance of high group morale and acts to protect or build as necessary; collaborates with others to address issues as necessary.
9.
Ability to work under pressure and availability to work at any given time on any given day.
10.
Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English.
