JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
We at SBI Manufacturing are looking for an experienced Controller to lead our finance and accounting department.
The Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of our organization, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and financial stability.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, accounting principles, and leadership skills.
DUTIES AND TASKS
Cost Accounting:
Analyze manufacturing costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure accuracy and allocation to appropriate cost centers.
Calculate and maintain standard costs for various products and components, and review variances between actual and standard costs.
Collaborate with production teams to understand production processes and cost drivers to improve cost efficiency.
Inventory Management:
Oversee inventory accounting processes, including valuation, reconciliations, and reporting.
Monitor inventory levels, track stock movements, and ensure accuracy of inventory records.
Perform periodic physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
Financial Reporting:
Preparing accurate and timely financial reports related to manufacturing, including cost of goods sold (COGS), inventory valuation, and variances analysis.
Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for management review.
Provide insights into financial performance, trends, and areas for improvement.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with operational teams to develop and monitor manufacturing budgets and forecasts.
Compare actual performance against budgets, investigate variances, and provide explanations to management.
Assist in the preparation of annual operating plans and budget presentations.
Month-End and Year-End Close:
Participate in month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals related to manufacturing activities.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of manufacturing-related transactions.
Compliance and internal Controls:
Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulations in all manufacturing-related financial actions.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
Assist in the development and implementation of internal control procedures within the manufacturing division.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounting processes and systems.
Streamline workflows, automate routine tasks, and enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with cross- functional teams, including production, procurement, and engineering, to gather data and insights for accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Provide financial guidance and insights to non-financial teams to support informed decisions.
REQUIREMENTS
Requires: Five years accounting/bookkeeping experience.
Requires: A BS/BA Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related fields.
Must be a dynamic individual with the ability and skills to work in a team environment.
Must be able to understand, use, and educate employees on financial statements and interpret financial data.
Must be computer literate.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing in English to interact with clients, employees, vendors, and professionals.
Strong understanding of cost accounting principles, standard costing, and inventory management.
Proficiency in using accounting software and ERP systems.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Ability to adapt in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and manage multiple priorities.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide actionable insights from financial data.
