How you'll contribute to the team:
Assistant Project Managers at Howe are versatile and resourceful individuals who support Project Managers by estimating, scheduling, and managing construction projects.
No day will be the same as an "APM".
You will assist in managing accounts, material, logistics, contracts, and operations of awarded contracts.
You may need to identify pricing and material availability, negotiate with vendors, complete change orders, RFI's, and general project documentation.
Our Assistant Project Managers must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers, co-workers, and contractors, and be willing to attend meetings both in-person and occasionally on active construction sites.
What you'll bring to the table:
To be successful as an APM, you must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
You must be organized and have an eye for detail.
You should also be able to read, understand, and interpret basic plans, specifications, schematics, and other project documents.
You will maintain a professional appearance always according to Howe standards and should be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products.
How you'll qualify:
The ideal Assistant Project Manager will have at least an Associates degree in either Project Management, Construction Management, Business, Accounting, or related field.
Experience working in estimating software such as Autobid Mechanical, Autobid Sheet Metal, or ESTMEP Software will be helpful.
What to expect in the office:
Assistant Project Managers mainly work in our office and must therefore be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
You may occasionally lift products or materials up to 15lbs and must be willing/able to attend active construction job-site visits as needed.
