As a General Manager of Carpet One, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of our retail flooring operation.
Your primary responsibilities will include planning, operational leadership, growing the business and team leadership to ensure the successful execution of flooring projects.
This role requires a dynamic individual with a background in the flooring industry, with a strong customer focus, sales experience, coupled with solid organizational and leadership skills.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management:
Oversee the end-to-end project management process, from initial consultation to project completion
Ensure efficient allocation of resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials
Ensure quality control measures to meet or exceed industry standards
Review marketing initiatives, strategies and activity along with the performance metrics
Ensure timely information to vendors and clients is maintained
Team Leadership:
Provide day-to-day leadership to the flooring team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment
Conduct regular performance evaluations, mentorship, and training to enhance the skills of the team
Encourage and facilitate effective communication within the team and across departments
Customer Relations:
Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with customers of all types, addressing their needs and concerns promptly
Collaborate with the sales team in order to identify and pursue new business opportunities
Collaborate with installers to ensure the highest level of standards is maintained before, during and after the installation
Financial & Inventory Management:
Manage the inventory and financial performance of the flooring division, ensuring targets are met
Monitor project costs, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
Qualifications
Residential and commercial flooring experience highly desired
Sales & Customer Relations experience a must
Experience with Carpet, LVT, Granite, Vinyl, Vinyl Plank, Tile and Wood
Experience leading Internal Team Members and External Labor
Knowledge of installation techniques and industry best practices
Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a diverse team
Proficient in having a financial focus
