As a Customer Operations Specialist at Astec, your main role is to accurately determine customer parts requirements, generate pricing quotes, effectively communicate the information to customers, and efficiently process orders through our internal systems.
Collaborating with engineering associates and adhering to established Astec guidelines, you will play a crucial part in ensuring customer satisfaction.
Additionally, you will be responsible for conducting necessary research and coordinating with various departments including Engineering, Service, Controls, Sales, Shipping, and Manufacturing as needed.
Our Customer Operations Specialist - Parts earn a starting salary of $21.
00 per hour but is dependent on experience.
Our Day Shift hours are Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm.
On Call will be required but not frequently.
What You'll Do: • Provide exceptional assistance and support to our valued customers and dealers, ensuring their needs and inquiries are addressed promptly and professionally.
• Utilize your expertise to locate the correct parts and prepare accurate and competitive quotations based on customer requests.
• Work closely with different departments within the organization to ensure seamless coordination and fulfillment of customer requests, striving for maximum customer satisfaction.
• Efficiently and accurately process parts sales orders to ensure timely delivery to customers.
• Proactively follow up on quotes and orders, keeping customers informed of progress and addressing any concerns or queries they may have.
• Collaborate closely with the outside sales team to provide comprehensive support and meet customer requirements effectively.
• Respond to customer calls and emails, diligently determine their requirements, and conduct thorough research using available resources to offer appropriate solutions.
• Coordinate with procurement and production teams, promptly report inventory shortages to supervisors, and actively engage in resolving issues related to breakdowns, wrong parts, replacements, returns, and warranties.
• Travel a week at a time, one to three times a year to call on direct customers and dealers; Plant visits, trade shows, dealer visits (selection, stock levels, training etc.
).

• Must be able to speak and write in English fluently.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• 1-2 years of work experience in similar environment • Some experience in mechanical or machinery related industry preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings preferred.
• Ability to work well with others, exercise sound judgment and solve problems, work independently and effectively manage workload (well-organized), be resourceful, attention to details (meticulous) and work well under pressure.
• Ability to operate general office equipment including telephone, computer, calculator, photocopier, and scanner.
• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office products preferable.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
