Lynch, population 296, is located in North Central Nebraska near the eastern boundary of Boyd County.
Lynch's townsite lies at the junction of Whiskey and Ponca Creeks.
The territory around Lynch is largely agricultural, consisting of pasture land, rolling breaks and table lands, and dryland farm ground.
Ten miles to the north lies Sunshine Bottom and the Missouri River which was part of the Lewis & Clark Trail, and five miles to the south of town runs the Niobrara River.
Scenic Nebraska Highway 12 takes you through Lynch and the Ponca Valley.
With rolling hills and valleys, the Lynch area attracts a diversity of wildlife.
Hunters may find deer, turkey, coyote, pheasant, grouse, prairie chicken, quail, dove, duck and geese.
Boyd County is also one of two places in Nebraska where you can hunt elk.
